Summary

The need for effective means of communicating major scenarios among senior management and the workforce at large has always been a challenge across major hazard industry. Risk assessment reports are often voluminous with majority of personnel discouraged by their sheer size, with only very few having the time and/ or able to muster the effort needed to read them.

The Top 10 Major Risk Induction Video was thus commissioned by TEPA to create a veritable means of introducing the concept of Major Accident Hazards (MAH) to its workforce, how they are determined, where they can occur on their asset, and personnel role in ensuring that integrity of critical barriers required to protect against the risks is always maintained.

Leveraging on its broad experience in technical risk management and animated video production, Melios created a framework for producing an engaging, simplified, and impactful communication medium that promoted awareness of major risks which was rolled out across TEPA assets.

The feedback from the Top 10 Major Risk Videos was very positive particularly regarding the simplification of an otherwise complex subject to non-technical personnel. The videos are now used as part of the safety induction pack for personnel and visitors to the different assets.
